A Day in the Big APPle (in comfort)

To begin my trip to NYC I need the Metro North train schedule- I use Station Stops This is a simple, easy to use app which gives you the Metro North Schedule by to and from stops.   Once I get to the city I have apps that tell me what Subway or bus to take to get where I am going.  Hop Stop (also City Transit or ItransNYC Subway which both show NYC transit maps- I find that City transit gives a little more information. Exit Strategy NYC Subway Map may be the best of this ilk. It shows not only SUbway and Bus maps but also some neighborhood maps. Additionally it shows where the subway exits are so you can figure out which exit gets you closest to your destination. An interesting subwayOne of my favorite apps for NYC which I have had a version of n all my Smartphones is called Cross Walk. Anyone that knows NY knows that it is important to know what the cross streets of an avenue address are or conversly the avenues of a street address - this wonderful app does the figuring for you - really can't be in NYC without it.

When you have to go you have to go- you can either use the starbucks app (we all know that they always have bathrooms) or you can use have 2 P. (This works all over not just NYC).  There is also a multi app called NYC Way which has nightlife, coffee shops, events, hotels, wifi, shopping, art galleries and many more. This is essentail if spending time in NYC.

NYC is a great place to be and there are so many IPhone apps to just make it better. I have just touched upon a few and hope my readers will share their favorites.

Lastly, if you are going to be walking around NYC I have found the most comfortable shoes that let you do good too.  I stumbled upon these shoes at Whole Foods - they are called Toms Shoes. Not only are they comfortable, come in multitudes of designs and colors, for men, women and children. Toms donates a pair of shoes for every pair that are purchased. see story here.
